Founded in 1981, the Golden Pin Design Award is the eldest and most prestigious professional design award in Taiwan. Since 2015, it has been divided into 3 major awards, namely, the Golden Pin Design Award, Golden Pin Concept Design Award, and Young Pin Design Award, in order to target different groups and commend innovative and outstanding design products and works.

The Golden Pin Design Award is open to global design teams and companies and targets works that have been commercialized and sold on the market. Through the selection of outstanding designs each year, the award provides a quality certification for the market and industry, and encourages companies to attach importance to design and R&D, and utilize the power of design to drive innovation, and enhance brand value.

The Golden Pin Concept Design Award invites students, designers, and companies from around the world to submit distinctive and novel creative ideas or solutions. It focuses on works that have yet to be mass-produced or sold, including non-client projects and unrealized proposals. It serves as a platform for exploring innovative concept design.

The Young Pin Design Award is the prestigious official award of Taiwan's iconic exhibition for emerging designers, the Young Designers' Exhibition. It is also the cherished honor that young designers aspire to achieve.
