Printed circuit board industry net-zero carbon emissions promotion plan

  • Published at:2026-05-29
  • Modified at:2026-05-29

The project aims to assist Taiwan’s printed circuit board (PCB) industry in enhancing carbon footprinting and traceability capabilities, establishing a product-level carbon content calculation mechanism, and advancing toward digitized carbon management to track manufacturing emission hotspots more efficiently, thereby accelerating the planning of low-carbon process optimization paths, improving energy efficiency, lowering entry barriers and costs for SMEs, and driving the industry's net-zero transformation; to achieve these goals, the initiative is structured into three key pillars: first, "Net-Zero Industry Trend Surveys and Policy Research" to investigate industry demands and bottlenecks while analyzing global carbon reduction trends to align domestic manufacturers with international standards and provide policy references for the government; second, "Design of Carbon Footprinting Calculation Mechanisms" to create feasible frameworks and digitized calculation rules through automated data collection, helping the industry meet international supply chain requirements and establish a quantitative basis for carbon reduction targets; and third, "Implementation of Carbon Traceability Technology and Pilot Promotion" to integrate process management with traceability technologies, helping enterprises master product carbon footprints while leveraging industry associations and pilot manufacturers to guide SMEs and facilitate knowledge diffusion, ultimately strengthening the foundation for the industry's low-carbon transition.
