The Project of Promoting and Counseling of Low Carbon Transformation for Textile Industry
- Modified at:2025-05-12
This program incorporates the 5th key strategy, 'Energy Saving and Efficiency,' from the 12 strategic actions outlined by the National Development Council to fully support the 2050 Net-Zero transition goals. The program is intended to survey the current state of carbon inventory in the textile industry. Several government-funded textile-related research institutes are formed as a team, providing technical solutions such as material substitution, process and equipment optimization, energy transition, and recyclable design concept, to help the textile industry attain its carbon emissions reduction goal. Furthermore, with the support of brand vendors, the program aims to facilitate their supply chain manufacturers to introduce low-carbon emissions technologies, build up a sustainable ecosystem, and strengthen the management capability of decarbonization and green communication power with brands. It will undoubtedly be the first priority of this program to assist the textile, footwear, and bag & luggage industries in lowering their carbon emissions, eventually leading to a net-zero transition.
