Performance Indicators Achievement Status
1. Research and Technical Reports
Completed 8 reports, including: international benchmarking of 5G private network spectrum; analysis of key global markets (mature and emerging); telecom equipment de-Sinicization policies and open architecture initiatives; system integrator landscapes; 5G/B5G open network and digital transformation trends; national 5G and infrastructure policies; global 5G service trends among major operators; Taiwan’s supply chain strengths and gaps; and international 5G testing and deployment environments. These reports serve as references for policy and strategy development.
2. Industry Activities
Completed 29 industry, competition, and technical events.
(1)2 Technical seminars: including an antenna and AI collaboration seminar and a 5G system integration forum, helping industry track global trends and build early capabilities.
(2)36 Industry exchange activities: including 3 TIP testing workshops, 2 5G open network solution showcases, 24 international matchmaking sessions, exhibitions, 2 industry association exchange events, expert forums, and 5G AIoT application briefings—strengthening collaboration across industry, government, academia, and research.
(3)2 Competitions: including an antenna innovation competition and an international communications competition, encouraging students, startups, and industry to engage in 5G innovation.
3. Investment Facilitation
Facilitated 31 alliance-led projects (involving 62 companies) to implement 5G AIoT applications in Kaohsiung. From 2022 to 2025, this led to cumulative investment of NTD 5.8 billion and generated NTD 22.8 billion in industry value.
4. Development of Innovative Industry Models
Facilitated 12 cross-sector collaborations (covering networking, system integration, cloud services, telecom, startups, and academia) to deploy 5G AIoT applications in the Kaohsiung Asia New Bay Area. Established an SMO/RIC-based open ecosystem for third-party application development, and built a physical development and testing site in Neihu, Taipei for network automation applications.
5. Testing and Technical Support Services
Supported 10 companies in interoperability testing and helped form cross-domain teams to develop and validate 5G Open RAN multi-vendor solutions, strengthening local technical capabilities.
6. Industry–Academia Collaboration
Facilitated collaboration between antenna competition teams and companies, resulting in 8 teams participating in early-stage product development, including joint R&D and NDA agreements.
