This project will be implemented based on the five major principles of “net-zero policy planning, collaboration on cross-domain issues, carbon neutrality alliance industry linkage, carbon reduction capacity construction, and net-zero management evaluation-supported decision-making” to promote industries in moving step-by-step towards the goal of net-zero emissions. Through net-zero policy planning and forward-looking technology applications; and linking domestic industrial energy, spreading excellent carbon reduction cases, improving the ability to cope with international supply chains, and strengthening the low-carbon competitiveness of the overall industry to achieve the goal of net-zero in manufacturing industry.

The "Industrial Carbon Neutral Alliance" was established in 2022 to promote large enterprises to coordinate supply chain and industrial chain to inherit carbon reduction technology and experience. In 2023, 60 members, including steel, petrochemical, cement, metal, machinery, electronics, textiles, pulp & paper (including printing), food, chemical-related glue, and other industrial sectors, and have set up courses such as workshops, core personnel courses, etc., attended by senior managers as well as grassroots, to help the industry in conformity with international standards. And also plan industrial carbon-neutral observation and exchange activities, including an arrangement to observe Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and visit the "TSMC Innovation Hall" on August 10,2023. TSMC pursues not only technological excellence and innovation, but also actively adopts various forward-looking practices that are environmentally friendly, starting from supply chain carbon inventory, and gradually achieve the vision of "carbon neutrality" through various energy-saving and carbon-reducing measures such as water recycling, improving energy efficiency, and purchasing green electricity., and then moves towards the goal of "net-zero emissions". TSMC's efforts and results in implementing environmentally sustainable development are worthy of serving as a model for other industries to learn and emulate.

This project also promotes the 1 N carbon management demonstration team, 1 (leading manufacturer) N (mentored manufacturer) carbon management demonstration team plan to guide the manufacturing industry in "carbon inventory diagnosis and energy saving diagnosis", "Carbon Inventory Verification Counseling and Energy Saving Diagnosis", "Product Carbon Footprint Verification Counseling", and "Carbon Management Project Training" are in line with the development trend of the international net-zero transformation. This year, 9 carbon management demonstration teams have been organized with 132 manufacturing manufacturers covering 15 manufacturing industries. The carbon reduction can reach 22,904 metric tons. It can also promote these 132 demonstration team manufacturers to embark on the journey of implementing low-carbon transformation. track, enhance companies’ own competitiveness and accelerate Taiwan’s integration into the international net-zero trend.
