The Ministry of Economic Affairs hosted The 24th National Quality Award and the 3rd Taiwan Mittelstand Award at the auditorium of the Executive Yuan at 2 PM today, May 21, 2015. Premier Mao Chi-kuo personally presented the awards to 16 award winners. It was estimated that more than 150 esteemed guests attended the event.

The winners of the 24th National Quality Award were CTE Tech Corp. (Enterprise), Shin Pu Technology (Small & Medium Enterprise), and Professor Chen Qi-guang of Yuan Ze University (Individual). Winners of the 3rd Taiwan Mittelstand Award were: ATEN International Co., Ltd.; MACHVISION Inc.; Nanliu Enterprise Co., Ltd.; PixArt Imaging Inc.; YOKE Industrial Corp.; KMC Chain Industrial Co., Ltd.; Johnson Health Tech Co., Ltd.; Bright Ideas Design Co., Ltd.; Galaxy Software Services Corporation; Singtex Industrial Co., Ltd.; Lucidity Enterprise Co., Ltd.; and INTAI Technology Corp. (in Chinese character strokes order). Additionally, to help implement the gender equality policy of the Executive Yuan, a committee of the Ministry of Economic Affairs chose Planet Technology Corporation, out of the 64 potential Mittelstand candidates, to receive the Excellence Award for Gender Equality. All 16 of the aforementioned winners were honored with the awards presented personally by Premier Mao.

During today's ceremonies, the winner of the National Quality Award, CTE Tech Corp., and the two winners of Taiwan Mittelstand Award, KMC Chain Industrial Co., Ltd., and Johnson Health Tech Co., Ltd. were invited to share their experiences. Mr. Xie Chun-hui, Chairman of CTE Tech Corp., stressed that a good business should have a futuristic view, investing in the future and creating value continually, and to learn and grow with joy constantly. His company provides customers with value using innovative approaches, nurturing company members' innovative differentiation capabilities, utilizing a quality management system, and implementing daily production management improvement through education and training.

Deputy General Manager of KMC Chain Industrial Co., Ltd., Ms. Wu Xing-juan shared her company's brand position, "To lead is to be unique." The company's annual production of bicycle chains in length is enough to circle the earth 4.8 times. Its global market share exceeds 73%. The bicycle chains used by YouBike are also their product. The company's market strategy upholds the idea of where there is a market, there is KMC. Thus, the company licenses its brand in 45 countries, and has branch offices in many major countries and is now the world's largest bicycle chain manufacturer.

Mr. Wei Wen-qi, Chief Financial Officer of Johnson Health Tech Co., Ltd. said of the company’s 40 years history began with the manufacturing of dumbbells in 1975. The business model for the first 20 years was primarily OEM/ODM, while the second 20 years have been dedicated to the development of its own brands, selling under three brand names: MATRIX, VISION, HORIZON with a market segmentation approach based on different sales channels and users. The business vision of Johnson Health Tech is to be the best business in the field of improving the health of human beings, while implementing the business philosophy of health, value, and sharing.
